As someone who has always been captivated by new technologies and their transformative impact on industries like healthcare, banking, and e-commerce, I’ve found myself drawn to the world of startups. The creativity of founders and their ability to tackle complex problems through innovative solutions has been a constant source of inspiration. Although I was born and raised in France, I’ve always kept a close eye on the economy and entrepreneurial developments shaping my native country, Algeria.
Over the years, I’ve worked as a marketing professional in various industries, from fintech to health tech and ad tech. My approach has always been grounded in understanding the market ecosystem: identifying key players, analyzing data, and building a comprehensive view of the landscape. This focus on mapping markets and ecosystems led to the creation of my first startup directory in January 2022, a project I called HealthTech Africa.
The Journey to HealthTech Africa
HealthTech Africa was born out of a desire to provide a clear and comprehensive view of the African healthcare technology ecosystem. The platform listed startups operating in this field and offered valuable insights for anyone looking to explore health tech innovations in Africa. While the project gained traction, it relied heavily on no-code tools—a fantastic resource for MVPs but increasingly limiting and costly for long-term scalability. By December 2022, I decided to sunset HealthTech Africa, reflecting on the lessons learned and what could be done differently in the future.

In 2025, I returned with a fresh vision and a new project: Startup Algeria. This startup directory focuses exclusively on the Algerian market, providing a single, accessible platform that showcases innovative startups across the country.
What sets Startup Algeria apart is its technical foundation. Moving away from no-code tools, I built the platform using Next.js and integrated it with Prismic Headless CMS for seamless content management. This decision allows for greater flexibility, scalability, and a more robust user experience. Visitors can easily explore startups, and institutions active in the entrepreneurial ecosystem can create landing pages to share their initiatives.
A Collaborative and Evolving Platform
Startup Algeria is more than just a directory—it’s a collaborative initiative. Anyone can request the addition of a startup by filling out a submission form on the platform. I personally review these submissions to ensure that each startup added meets the platform’s standards.
Looking ahead, I envision adding new features to make the platform even more valuable for users. This includes fields like funding data for startups (when available) and expanding the platform’s accessibility by offering content in Arabic. These enhancements aim to create a richer, more dynamic resource for anyone interested in Algeria’s startup ecosystem.
With Startup Algeria, my goal is to provide a centralized hub of information for startups. Whether you’re a founder looking for inspiration, an investor seeking opportunities, or simply curious about the Algerian startup ecosystem, Startup Algeria is here to help.
